New Course Teaches Students Art of Brewing
Vats of malted barley and hops are going to be the main attraction for many students come fall.
There is a new class being offered for the fall semester at GCC, it’s a beer appreciation class. You must be at least 21 years old prior to the class start date in order to enroll for this class. This is for all the people who said school can’t be fun.
To add a little variety to student’s lives, this class will be held on and off campus. There will be tours of the Rock Bottom micro brewery at Arrowhead Mall and the What Ales Ya home brewing store. This class will teach you everything you wanted to know plus more about fermentable alcohol.
However, there will be no beer consumption during the classroom portion of the course, but optional beer sampling will take place outside of the campus academic setting.
Unique and distinguishable beer from around the world will be enjoyed whilst learning about the intricate process that makes them.
From a hefewiezen to stout amber ale,s this class hopes to help students develop a newly distinguishable palette for beer. Learning the various tones and noises will help expand understand for what most people take for granted, a good brew.
In this class, you can also learn to make your own beer with a little out of pocket cost you can start your own five gallon batch.
The instructor will provide students with vital information regarding the safe personal production of beer. This class is a great way to meet people with similar interests. Get exposed to a new culture of beer appreciation.
