American Bar Association – Lt Governor Appointment

Ryan Cleckner has been appointed as a Lt. Governor of the 1st Circuit Law Student Division of the American Bar Association (ABA) in charge of Veteran’s Advocacy.

Ryan will serve as Lt. Governor for the ABA and direct veteran advocacy programs within the first circuit for the duration of the 2010/2011 academic year. The following law schools are in the first circuit:

Ryan was featured on the Quinnipiac Law School website in a feature entitled “One Student’s Story”

After serving in Afghanistan, military veteran Ryan Cleckner took on a new cause, safeguarding veterans’ rights. He started by launching a veterans’ advocacy student group.

Ryan was appointed to the North Haven Board of Ethics.  Ryan is starting his local political service on the Board of Ethics as a representative for his political party.

His current two year term on the board runs from the retroactive date of 01/04/10 to 12/31/11.

Wilderness Tactical Products – 5/15/06

Ryan designed and developed a revolutionary weapon retention system for soldiers. After experiencing shortcomings of standard weapon slings in combat environments, Ryan teamed up with Wilderness Tactical Products to create an adapter that allows a single-point (trademark of The Wilderness) sling to be used on body armor without interfering with access to equipment nor creating a safety hazard by having a sling wrapped around a soldiers neck. It is a very simple invention, but it works and Ryan is proud of it.  You may view the description from the company’s website below:
